Voter Rights

Gerrymandering in North Carolina
Gerrymandering of voting districts and the reduction of early voting hours is an attempt to reduce minority voter turnout for the benefit of incumbent politicians. We will advocate for a non-partisan board to create voting districts. Read more....
Healthcare and Medicaid Expansion
Lack of expansion of Medicaid has cost NC citizens billions of Federal tax dollars that NC citizens sent to Washington that have not returned. This has hurt citizens who cannot afford healthcare. It has hurt the economics of the healthcare system of the State of NC who would have benefited from these billions. It has reduced hiring in our healthcare system.
HB2 Restriction of Equal Rights
Equal rights for all should be a given in this day and time. It is hard for some of us to believe that the current majority in the NC State House and Senate are writing laws that legalize discrimination against a group of NC citizens. It is hurting our economy, it is hurting transgender individuals, and it is creating economic hardship for the State of NC.
Women's Rights
Reducing the availability of healthcare services to women through the reduction of funding to institutions such as Planned Parenthood directly attacks women's rights. Women need to have ready access to all healthcare services without the interference of the State of NC legislature.
Environmental Protection
Protecting our environment and water rights must be a long term priority and not damaged because of short term economic interests. Read more ...
